Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-10-16.
MK Carpics is designed to work without collecting personal information. This policy covers the iPhone and iPad app, its widgets and this website.
No accounts
The app has no sign-up or login. We don't ask for your name, email address or phone number, and there is no advertising or tracking.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details or your Apple ID. The app checks your subscription status with Apple on your device.
Photos
When you save a wallpaper, the app asks for permission to add photos to your library. It cannot read or browse your existing photos.
My Photos lets you choose your own pictures for the widget through the system photo picker, which only gives the app the photos you select. Each one is copied without its location, camera details or other metadata, kept only in the app's storage on your device, and never uploaded.
Redeem codes
When you redeem a code, the app sends the code and a random identifier created for this installation of the app. It isn't linked to your Apple ID, your device's hardware or anything else about you. We store only a one-way hash of that identifier, so the code's use limit counts devices rather than attempts and redeeming again on the same device is free. To stop people guessing codes, we also keep a one-way hash of your IP address for up to an hour.
The same applies on this website: a browser that redeems a code counts as one device, and the identifier and unlocked collections are stored in that browser. "Forget this browser" at the bottom of the Unlocked page removes them.
Data stored on your device
Favorites, your own photos, downloaded images and settings are stored only on your device and are removed when you delete the app.
The installation identifier and the collections you've unlocked are kept in your device's Keychain, so reinstalling the app doesn't use up a code again. They contain nothing about you.
Network requests
The app downloads the wallpaper catalog and images from our content delivery network, and talks to our server when you redeem a code. Like any web server, these may briefly process your IP address to deliver files and keep short-lived logs for fixing problems; we don't use them to identify you and don't share them.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
